Celia Susanne Sue (Eaton) Alkire, 77, of Parkersburg died Monday December 9, 2013 in her daughter's home surrounded by family.
Sue was born June 13, 1936, in Belleville WV., to Earl and Garnet (Life) Eaton. She was preceded in death by 4 siblings: Elaine Ross Hale, Eugene Eaton, Rachel Hale, and Jack Eaton. One sibling Patricia Jackson resides in Ohio.
Sue and her children's father, James Alkire were the parents of 5 children: Richie Gene Alkire (deceased), Jennifer Wharton (Alvin) of Vienna WV., Steve Alkire(Jeanette) of Heath, Ohio, Darren Alkire (Joy) of St. Marys, WV. and Kreig Alkire (Theresa) of Columbus OH.
Sue was the proud grandmother of 5: Kristin Wharton, Brandon Wharton (Sara), Kathryn Holcomb (Paul), Jessica Alkire, and Jack Alkire. She had 2 great grandchildren, Lillian Holcomb and Annalynn Holcomb and 5 step great grandchildren: Dakota Holcomb, Trinity King, Alaina Brigner, Kianna Hester, & Aniyah Hester.
She is also survived by a former daughter in law, Karen Alkire who remained a special friend.
Sue was preceded in death by 2 beloved canine friends Heidi & Cujo.
At her request there will be no service or visitation.
The family has entrusted arrangements to the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg.

Goldie Irene Alkire, 94, of Slanesville, WV passed away on Friday, July 5, 2013 at Hampshire Center.

Born on April 3, 1919 in Hoy, WV, she was the daughter of the late William Pryor Luttrell and Ida (Coates) Luttrell.

She served as Postmaster of the Slanesville Post Office for 25 years. She was a member of the Slanesville Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder and past treasurer.

Goldie was preceded in death by her husband, Holden D. Alkire, in 1977. She was also preceded by two sisters, Dorothy Beery and Arvella Heironomous,and two brothers, Paul Luttrell and Leslie Luttrell.

Surviving is a daughter, Janet Crabtree and husband Glen of Romney, a son, Ronald Alkire and wife Claris of Winchester, VA, a brother, Raymond Luttrell of Berkeley Springs, WV, three grandchildren, Deborah Tizio, J.R. Crabtree, Sheila Hoffman, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 8, 2013 at 12:00 P.M. in McKee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Patrick Lanaghan and Pastor Robert Jeffreys officiating. Interment will follow in Salem Cemetery, Points, WV.

The family will receive friend On Monday from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Salem Cemetery % Sandy Hott, RR1 Box 32B Augusta, WV 26704 or Slanesville Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 182 Slanesville, WV 25444 or Hospice of the Panhandle 122 Waverly Court Martinsburg, WV 25401.

All arrangements are being handled by McKee Funeral Home, Augusta, WV.
